Bearing Cage

Cages ( also known as bearing retainers) refer to bearing parts that partially wrap all or part of the rolling elements and move with them. It is used to isolate and guide the rolling elements and keep them in the bearing.

During the operation of rolling bearings, due to bearing heating and wear caused by the sliding friction, especially in high temperature conditions, the inertial centrifugal force intensifies friction, wear and heat, causing severe cage burns or broken and even further failure of bearing operation. Therefore, in addition to certain strength, the material of the cage must have good thermal conductivity, small friction factor, good wear resistance, strong impact toughness, low density, and an expansion coefficient close to that of the rolling element. In addition, the stamping cage needs to undergo more complicated stamping deformation. It also requires the material to have good processing performance. Some of the extremely demanding cages will also coat a layer of silver.
