Cylindrical roller bearing rolling elements are cylindrical rollers, which are separable bearings, convenient for installation and disassembly. According to whether the ring has ribs or not, it can be divided into N, NU, NJ, NF, NUP single-row cylindrical roller bearings, NNU, NN double-row cylindrical roller bearings, and multi-row cylindrical roller bearings. Cylindrical roller bearings generally use copper alloy lathe-made solid cages or engineering plastic cages. When the speed is low and the load is large, it can be full-roller bearings without cage.

Cylindrical roller bearings have a linear contact between the rollers and the raceway. It has large load capacity, mainly bearing radial loads. The friction is low between the rolling element and the rib of the ferrule, suitable for high-speed rotation, requiring high coaxiality. Cylindrical roller bearings without ribs on the inner or outer ring, the inner and outer rings can move relatively to the axial direction, so they can be used as free end bearings. Cylindrical roller bearings can withstand a certain degree of unidirectional axial load, which is with double ribs on one side of the inner ring or outer ring and a single rib on the other side of the ring.
