Detailed Introduction

Tapered roller bearings are separable bearings. The inner and outer rings of the bearing have tapered raceways. The inner ring and the set of tapered rollers are enclosed by a basket-shaped cage. The outer ring can be separated from the inner ring assembly. This type of bearing has different structures, such as single-row, double-row and four-row tapered roller bearings according to the number of rows. Tapered roller bearing outer ring and inner assembly are 100% interchangeable.

Single-row tapered roller bearings can bear radial load and single direction axial load. The axial load capacity depends on the contact angle, that is, the outer ring raceway angle. The larger is the angle, the bigger the axial load capacity. When the bearing is subjected to radial load, an axial component force will be generated. So, another bearing which can withstand axial force in the opposite direction is needed to balance it. Compared with angular contact ball bearings, the load carrying capacity is increased and the limit speed is reduced.
