Bearing Assembly

Rolling bearings are generally composed of four major parts: inner ring, outer ring, rolling elements and cage.

Inner ring: Inner ring is usually fixed on the shaft and rotates with the shaft. There are grooves on the outer surface of the inner ring supporting the steel balls or rollers, which are called inner grooves or inner raceways.

Outer ring: Outer ring is usually fixed on the bearing housing or case of the machinery to support the rolling bodies. There are also grooves on the inner surface of the outer ring for supporting steel balls or rollers, which is called inner grooves or inner raceways.

Rolling elements: Each set of bearings is equipped with one or several sets of rolling elements, which are installed between the inner ring and the outer ring and play the role by transmitting rolling force. Rolling elements are load-carrying parts, whose shape, size, and number determine the bearings ability to withstand loads and high-speed operation performance.

Cage: The rolling elements in the bearing are evenly spaced from each other by the cage, so that each rolling element rolls orderly between the inner ring and the outer ring. In addition, the cage has the functions of guiding the movement of the rolling elements, improving the internal lubrication conditions of the bearings, and preventing the rolling elements from falling off.
